Frequently Asked Questions

Here’s more information to help you choose between all the scaffolding companies in Auckland

Whether you’re new to hiring scaffolding, or you’re shopping around for a different supplier, here’s some information to help you choose from between all the scaffolding companies in Auckland.

What makes Heightwise different to other scaffolding companies?

First and foremost, Heightwise was established by a construction company. That means we understand that you need a scaffolding hire supplier that’s prompt, efficient, and can work around other trades. You’ll find us to be user friendly, and focused on safety and efficiency.

We want you to avoid the frustrations that usually surround scaffolding installs. You’ll find that Heightwise:

  • Delivers enough gear onsite - and if you do need more, we’ll deliver it promptly.
  • Provides enough manpower to erect the scaffolding quickly.
  • Re-adjustments will be made promptly.
  • Weekly safety checks are undertaken, and all the scaffolding tags will be updated each time.
  • Proactive solutions will be suggested in terms of material deliveries to upper storeys.
  • Location of access ladders will be suitable for the overall efficiency of the jobs, in terms of materials storage and vehicle movements.
  • Sharp protrusions are masked and made safe, so there are no exposed bolts when walking under the scaffold.
  • Adequate clearances are created for good access to the building.
  • Follows regulations in terms of the distance of the planking from the building.

On top of that, there are two key factors that drive the team at Heightwise:

  1. Safety: We want you and your team to go home to your families every night after work, without any workplace injuries or incidents. That means we’ll only supply quality scaffolding, plus we take our safety responsibilities with regards to adjustments and inspections very seriously.
  2. Efficiency: Being efficient is a must for a project to be profitable. We see our role in that as being prompt and timely, as well as working quickly.

If that sounds like the kind of scaffolding company you’d like to work with, get in touch!

  • The complete scaffolding system for your job, including safety rails etc., as required.
  • Full erect and dismantle.

How can I find out the scaffold hire rates?

We don’t publish the hire rates, because there are so many variables involved, e.g.:

  • How simple, complex, large or small your job is
  • Where you’re located
  • How many adjustments you’re likely to need in the building process.

So rather than provide a confusing price list of scaffold hire rates, we’d rather speak to you to find out what you need, and get back to you promptly with a tailor-made quote for your job. Contact us here.

What sort of turnaround times do you work to?

Time is money in the building game, and Heightwise realises that a prompt and efficient service makes all the difference to the profitability on your job. Our service standards are:

  • Quotation request: We’ll be in touch with you within one working day of you contacting us to find out your needs. And you’ll receive the quotation within two working days of us having all your info, or after a site visit, whichever is relevant.
  • Scaffolding supply and erection: As per your requirements in the quote. We’ll be at your site on time, on the day you request the scaffolding.
  • Adjustments: Contact us whenever you need and adjustment, and we’ll sort it out for you as soon as possible, usually within one working day.
  • Weekly safety inspections: We’ll be on site every week, like clockwork.
  • Dismantling the scaffolding for removal: Again, we’ll be there at the time you request for us to take the scaffolding down, so you can move onto the next phase of your project in a timely and efficient manner.

What are the scaffolding safety standards that Heightwise works to?

Heightwise will always work within current New Zealand safety requirements for scaffolding, specifically the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and the Health and Safety in Employment Regulations 1995. All staff are well trained in Work safes NZ's expectations relating to scaffolding health and safety regulations, in particular the latest edition of the Good Practice Guidelines (November 2016).

We’re absolutely passionate about following scaffolding safety requirements to the letter. Not only do workplace injuries and accidents affect your build, but the bottom line is that we want every member to go home to their families safe and happy after work each day.

Your quote from Heightwise will include weekly safety inspections, plus we’ll take all other steps necessary to ensure that you and your team are safe. That includes developing a scaffolding risk assessment and scaffolding safety plan for your site, and using scaffold safety tags.

Can I make adjustments to the scaffolding myself?

No! Even though the Ringlock scaffolding system is simple and modular, it is strictly against New Zealand scaffolding safety regulations for you to make any adjustments to the scaffolding yourself. Heightwise will make the adjustments for you – and a number of these will be included in your quote, based on the size and complexity of your project. And we’ll work on your scaffolding adjustment within one working day of you requesting it, as we realise that time is money.

What is Ringlock scaffolding?

We think that Ringlock scaffolding is the best scaffolding system around: it’s fast, efficient, strong, safe and certified.

How can it be all of these things? It’s because it’s a modular system, that’s specifically designed to be simple and safe. And we bet that efficiency and profitability, as well as safety, are the most important items on your job site.
